I don't trust Ben Sasse as far as I could throw him (as the saying goes) but if he pushes this through I will move to Nebraska and volunteer on his reelection campaign.

I don't really have any problem with the election of two senators, however, limit their time in the senate to, say 12 years at a time. Allow them to be re-elected, but only after two more terms have passed. Representatives similarly, 6 terms of two years for a total of twelve. Or better yet, cut both back to two terms of 4, just like the president.

If you can't accomplish or set in motion anything after 12 years, you don't need to be there.

Term limits are a good idea, and one well past time.
The entire point of the Senate is for a body that represents the States in government. As it is now both houses represent the people.

I'd say both the Senate and the House tend to represent themselves instead of their representative body.

Term limits would potentially drag them back to what they were intended for. If you know you're going to only be there for a short time, you tend to have a sense of urgency, and new ideas come in as times change.

OK, corruption is definitely rampant and definitely another reason for term limits. No argument at all from me.
