I'd say both the Senate and the House tend to represent themselves instead of their representative body.
Term limits would potentially drag them back to what they were intended for. If you know you're going to only be there for a short time, you tend to have a sense of urgency, and new ideas come in as times change.
OK, corruption is definitely rampant and definitely another reason for term limits. No argument at all from me.
I don't know how to solve that one. They can still be corrupt bought children if terms are limited.
Limiting the amount of power they have is the only real way to limit the corruption. There's no real way to stop it completely.
