Currently, the state of New York is facing a $30 billion deficit and Republicans have already declared they aren’t planning on bailing out states.
However, Cuomo’s plea is not just about tax dollar revenue it’s about the electoral college.
Mayor Bill de Blasio posted that only 54.8% of New Yorkers filled out the Census which would mean, “could lose HALF our funding, that means we could lose TWO representatives.”
That would also mean New York would lose two votes in the electoral college.
