I know it sure did raise the costs before the mandate went away. The insurance companies were using their paying customers as cash cows to cover all expenses. The plan I had went from a traditional 80/20 that cost me nothing to a $5k deductible with a $1500/year premium (on top of the company's paid portion) in three years.

That being said, it's about fucking time. We need an insurance for all, but the ACA wasn't it.

One of the easiest fixes would be to allow insurance carriers to sell polices out-of-state.

Get rid of the state-by-state licenses and have a universal insurance regulation that covers all 50 states.
