There may not be many regular consumers left, if this lock down shit goes on for more than another month. With so many not working, very litlte other than food and household items will be purchased. Who needs a new car if they don't drive anywhere? The system is wildly over reacting to not having enough hospital beds and equipment, should most people be allowed to be exposed to covid-19, like we are to every other flu and cold bug. We need to accept that roughly 0.4% of those infected will die, everyone else will recover in a couple of weeks. The world could then move on. I think the only country that's going to come out on top of this is China. They won't have to wait ten years, or more, to become the worlds most powerful economy when all Western economies shrink by 50%.

We may be living in one of the final chapters of the Clown Worldᵀᴹ graphic novel. Or not, if normalcy returns by June 2020.

I think you're right about consumerism in what you're saying. However, consider that after all of the purchasing power with money is exhausted, some may begin to use other forms of currency, like their freedom and bodies. I think this may actually be the plan that these internationalist oligarchs have, which is less about money and more about power.

It would be nice to think normalcy will return. If people don't stand up now, then they won't change in June. I'm not hopeful for the masses, but some more are waking up. What I have hope for is cherishing those that do.
