Many states allow former felons to earn the right to vote by demonstrating that they can be otherwise law abiding residents of that state for a predetermined number of years. The former felons I've known who relocated to state like Louisiana after their release to completely bypass that tend to have dubious connections with questionable ties. Worse yet, these people demonstrate that they still possess the psychological dysfunctions and moral disconnect that made them inclined to commit crimes to begin with.
