They are essentially actors, or team players. You can have two competing sports teams with different players, but it doesn't change the nature of the sport they're playing or that the league is run by unelected oligarchs.
So as a third party or having only one?

I think if you're going to create a discussion post on a topic you'd be more interested in discussing the topic.
I think there has been too much overlap between the two parties for years and the partisanship we're seeing now is an outcome of Orange Man Bad. Both parties simply promise whatever they think the people want to hear and then focus on gaining and maintaining power once they're in place.
