An MPD spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Mail that they were investigating a 'suspicious package' at the corner of 23rd Street and I Street NW, just outside GWU's Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library. The department responded to a call shortly before 11am, and two hours later the police were still blocking the intersection and asking civilians to avoid the area. The department spokesperson said there was no evidence to link this incident to any other incident.
