Yeah, tipping culture is fake and gay. I am so sick of this shit. Just pay people what they should be paid for the job and charge more. If you can't survive as a business doing that then you probably should not be in business.

From the post:

>Americans have finally reached their breaking point when it comes to tipping. After years of being asked to leave gratuities everywhere from coffee shops and takeout counters to ride-share apps and self-service kiosks, many consumers say they have had enough - and are now tipping less than they did just a year ago. A new nationwide survey found that 78 percent of Americans believe tipping culture has become 'ridiculous,' while nearly half say they have actively cut back on gratuities in 2026 as household budgets come under increasing pressure. The findings, from restaurant technology company Popmenu, suggest a growing backlash against what many consumers see as relentless requests for extra money on top of already rising prices.

There is a take-out restaurant by me that has preset tip percentages of 20%, 25%, 30%, and "Other." There are no tables or servers to tip. The last time I was there (and it was indeed the last time I'll be there) I selected "other" and entered 0. The woman behind the counter was not happy. Quite a few of us in the area have done the same. I'd heard that they lowered the tip amounts but I won't go there to confirm.

Yeah. This bullshit where they are now acting like "25% is the norm now". Fuck that bullshit. We almost always eat/cook at home but unless I get REALLY good service (you know, actually get service like at a nice sit-down or something) you are not getting a tip starting at 20%+ It's not fucking happening man.

Agree. I remember when it went from 10/15/20 to 15/20/25 And you can have the app preselect the button you want.

If anyone default selects 25% they get zero. If they don’t preselect. I give the least on principal.

Yes I worked service industry long ago.
