Quick, Hoard Pennies!

Archive: https://archive.today/3HkBH

From the post:

>The American penny passed away on Wednesday in Philadelphia at the age of 232. According to the Treasury Department, the causes were irrelevance and high cost. No longer could a penny buy anything — not even penny candy. And with the expense of minting each coin exceeding three cents, the penny's fate was sealed by simple economics. The final pennies were minted on Wednesday afternoon in the Pennsylvania city, where treasurer of the United States Brandon Beach struck the final, circulating one-cent coin. 'Today the Mint celebrates 232 years of penny manufacturing,' said Kristie McNally, acting mint director.

People started hoarding them since the announcement was made. Many retailers are having a hard time since their systems still go down to the cent (wonder why). /s

It's been causing a lot of problems all over the place. I think a bunch of people started holding them back thinking they would be worth a LOT in like 5 years. (maybe in 100 years) but you get what I am saying.

Unless it's something special I highly doubt that pennies will ever be ultra valuable. There is simply too many of them.
