The decriminalization of hard drugs just opened up the pipeline for Chinese (isreal by proxy) fentanyl to be illegally imported into the state. I didn't find it surprising that it was a coastal state that legalized. Overdoses have gone up over 600 percent since all the prescription opioid laws were signed into law. (Search it up yourself.) Meanwhile, opioid prescribing is at the lowest it's ever been. (Search that up yourself, too.) It doesn't take a rocket scientist to math up the obvious.
