They're getting rid of salaried employees - managers and supervisors who mostly work in-office. They could let go of 2/3 of them and no less work will be done.

This is what happens when your politicians do less than nothing to protect their own citizens from cheap foreign labor and psychopathic transnational corporations. Jacking up taxes is only going to make it worse. They are deliberately implementing policies that will lead to Carter era stagflation, and likely much worse.
