I was in a CVS in downtown Philly and a black guy just started sprinting out of the store from the back at full speed. Pretty startling / 'scary'. Asked what happened. They said a robbery. Happens all the time. Was also in the macys and had the same thing happen. 2 or 3 blacks. Police chasing them. Asked what happened. They said happens all the time. Says 'they'll end up getting their ass beat by the police'.
Downtown Philly is a white neighborhood. Very nice. But too many outer neighborhood 'visitors'.
Unlike New York, Philly's neighborhoods do not have social cohesion with the city on a whole. So the city basically like two or three different worlds entirely side by side. The white neighborhoods, and the black and hispanic.
