During the Trump administration, and until Pedo Joe was installed, the Saudis were hemorrhaging cash, couldn't pay their bills and were afraid they'd have to start filling their pools with the stuff. At one point it was actually cheaper for the UAE to buy natural gas shipped in from the US than it was to pump their own out of the ground.
