Imagine you're all dressed up in you cool all-black chinese made tactical larp gear. You just took your court psychiatrist prescribed meds and your new best internet friend just dropped you off at the front door of the school with a shiny new $2,300 AR and a backpack full of loaded magazines and even a couple pipe bombs. You run in the front door, burdened with glorious purpose!

And get immediately center-punched by the school janitor. The last thing you hear as you're lying on your back, bleeding out, looking up at the drop-down ceiling tiles...

"Shit. Now I'm going to have to clean that up too."

Over the course of a lot of my own analysis, I settled on #1 as compromise between 00 and #4 for pellet count/pattern density, and energy per pellet. I found #4 to lack sufficient soft tissue penetration. 00 has too much for household applications. #1 seems to be the sweet spot.

The loads I make consistently penetrate about 12", through denim, at 10 yards, in test gel.
