Use of weed killer is almost always unnecessary, and almost always a mistake. Nobody needs to poison weeds on lawns. You just mow over them and let them grow with the grass. It's green for fuck's sake, what more do you want? The shit put on lawns and golf courses kills birds and bees. It should be completely banned other than for very specific, necessary applications. Cosmetic reasons should not apply.
Did you ever think that weed killer promotes the use of bug killer, which poisons birds and other wildlife? Here's how it works. To get a perfect lawn, you must kill everything other than a certain species of grass. When you do this, the grass becomes highly vulnerable to insect pests, which can leave large brown, dead patches. To stop this, millions of tons of poison are dumped on the lawns to kill the insects. The poisoned insect bodies go into birds and rodents, and into larger animals that eat the birds and rodents. That's how herbicide kills birds and other animals.
