I used to rent a room from a couple, and the wife had an 11yo from a past marriage. Her ex used to beat her and drag her down flights of stairs which the boy remembered. A classmate of his talked about getting spanked, so this kid told his friend the horror story he used to live in. The teacher over heard, and even tho he told her "no my real dad did this not my step dad" the house was raided by cps and police trying to take my friend away and put the kid into foster care. No investigation, no warrant. The state and cps can fuck your shit right up.
