How do you go from: everyone is smoking untaxed cannabis to legalizing marijuana was a bad idea? The goal is supposed to be harm reduction -- not another way of collecting taxes
I don't understand how anyone can be against legalization.

I mean, weed is for coomers and niggers -- don't get me wrong. But throwing people in jail for 5 years for possessing a dab is fucking stupid. I used it for years to ease hangovers.
I don't doubt it. Doesn't mean I can understand their flawed point of view.
Well the problem is a lot of dumb ass pot heads literally used taxing it as a big part of their pitch on legalizing weed in many states.
I remember telling more than a few that they're going to get hit with over 10% sales taxes and was basically told to fuck off in various ways.
Republicans need it to be revenue neutral. How come people don't home distill to avoid the huge sin taxes on that? Or, alternatively, why don't we care? I think if you put a reasonable tax on stuff, people will pay it rather than go through the trouble of doing it illegally. If you make it super lucrative for smuggers, then you have to spend a lot of time and money smashing heads in order to collect your stupid taxes.
