I dont have any links offhand but its pretty easy to find videos of Chinese people stealing pet dogs off porches for meat and fur, and there are lots of examples of Chinese drivers driving backwards over pedestrians they hit in order to avoid paying the medical expenses The main issue in Japan is women being groped on trains, but they don't have a rape/murder/robbery problem there. Also Singapore is extremely high trust because they publicly flog petty criminals there. Like if you spit on the sidewalk they tie you to a post, and the whole town watches a cop beat your ass with a bamboo pole I know less about Taiwan and Korea but think they're probably ok, not as good as Japan or Singapore though. I've also heard the Muslim islands (Indonesia and Malaysia) are pretty low in crime. And to clarify I'm using "high trust" in the context of feeling safe walking at night, leaving your front door unlocked, etc. I'm not factoring in scams or lying.
