depends how theyre used. In the UK they tend to get shut down by the counties because they lose money becaaaaaaaaaaaaause.... they put big ass signs saying SPEED CAMERA AHEAD and they put htem on..... accident blackspots, then what happens right... is that people who are actualyl paying attention go 'oh shit id better slow down for the camera' thereby slowing down through the..... dangerous place where the SAFETY CAMERA is, and the cameras end up costing the county more than they gain in fines, while morons paying zero attention or giving zero fucks are the only people that cop fines. Mobile speed cameras when i was in the UK were in massive white vans with reflective tape on the back and POLICE - SPEED CAMERA signs on them. You couldnt miss them, and you had to be a fucking retard to get hit with a camera fine.
Australia however... they are not safety cameras, theyre purely revenue raising, and get hidden everywhere, and you dont know you even went through a 'accident black spot' until weeks later when you get a fine. Then there is the country version of this - fucking assholes in GHILLIE SUITS hiding behind bushes. Its illegal, but people pay the fucking fines anyway.
