This is what happens when you have a tyrannical bureaucracy and asshole karen community members who feel the need to micromanage how everyone around them lives. This is the number one reason to move the fuck away from any population center. They've managed to supersede any idea of property ownership with their communist bullshit. Property inside any city is a financial instrument you never own it.
HOAs are nuts. I never lived in one but paying 3-500 a month for shitty lawn service and to get told you can't have a grill on your deck is insane. But most people are lazy as shit and dumb with their money, and thus deserve to be trampled.
Whats fucked up is a lot of municipalities operate as if they are HOA's now which is what happened to me in previous living location. As soon as i figured it out i moved but they still fucked me pretty hard.
