Even if the ammo supplier put live rounds in a box labeled as blanks or fakes, the armorer is still negligent. All you have to do is shake a round to know it has powder behind it, for one. There's a reason the armorer is a thing, and it's not just some grip's job to make sure they get the ammo from a box labeled "blanks."
