“Support yourself, be useful, or die” sounds pretty reasonable to me.
So there's tiers to the range of competence offered to people of varying IQ levels: People with an IQ range in the 90s likely won't cut it as an auditor or a Lawyer. In the same way, we don't want someone with 140 IQ delivering pizzas. Because their IQ ranges rarely afford them the opportunity to punch above their weight, taking away the means for them to contribute means them starving in this scenario I'm describing. In other words, "just be more useful" is as good as telling a fish out of water to "just breathe air".
Exactly. Eugenics is a thing.
I don't have big issues with the totality of Eugenics, but something like this I don't expect to go over well with the vast majority of people. Like we've said, most people have plenty of family or friends in the sub 100 IQ range. Them suddenly starving would be a pretty big deal. Frankly, it'll probably only be another two decades or so before the floor nears 100 IQ for base wages being attainable. People around 90 probably don't have much more than five years left.
