His brakes were fine but when you're in a truck going down a mountain you have to use some common sense. There's tons of signs at the top of the mountain warning truckers to use lower gears to avoid "faulty brakes" as they keep saying. This dumb fuck pulled the truck out of gear and couldn't get it back in gear so he had no engine to help with the braking and he burned his brakes up trying to stop and then just drove passed the ramps that are along the side of the road specifically for this.
