Is Montana a good place to settle, avoid cohen1984 bullshit and start family? In my imagination it is most rural state of US, like couple small towns, farms and shitload of forests with grizzly bears.

a year ago i was also looking for a state to start a family and montana or wyo were my top picks. then i realized my duty to personally provide heat and food to my family would be difficult in a place that has freezing temps for most of the year. not easy in a grid down senario. then i began to think on Appalachia.
