I hate all this automatic crap. The reason the car replaced the horse is the lower maintenance. You need to feed and exercise a horse every day. Cars could be stuck in a garage and forgotten about for weeks at a time. Now all this computerized crap is a constant drain on the battery.

Nearly all high end new cars have cameras watching the driver doing eye tracking. If you put tape over these cameras the cars onboard computer will not allow the car to start.

Once that free trail ends, you can continue using the service for a fee if you choose to. If you don't want the remote start capability, and choose to simply use the fob as it has been used for the last 25 years, that's also your choice.

It depends on the design. If it's like On Star that requires servers so that it can be started from anywhere, that's one thing. If it's a radio connection that is a direct connection between the car and the fob, that's another. However, if that's the case, there shouldn't be any way for Toyota to change the software to include the charge model.
