The suggestion that the assault laws run afoul with gun safety standards or that the DA broke the law by pointing that rifle at the jury is stupid.
The suggestion that the assault laws run afoul with gun safety standards
We haven't established that Wisconsin law is as you describe. That being said, a law that says it's not a crime to point a firearm at somebody unless the victim has reason to believe it's loaded DOES run afoul of just about every principle of gun safety.
or that the DA broke the law by pointing that rifle at the jury is stupid.
I agree that we was not in violation of any Wisconsin statutes that I'm aware of, but that doesn't mean it wasn't reckless.
See? You're fucking retarded.
All states assault laws are based on a simple premise. You have to cause a harm or put someone in fear of being harmed.
Not that fucking complicated.
And it obviously isn't reckless. Pull the mag, cycle the chamber, look into the chamber, verify empty. Gun is safe. Simple fucking concept.

You're telling me that if that guy lifted that rifle and pointed it straight at you that you wouldn't have any fear of being harmed? I would and I own four of the fucking things.

You, here, trying to make the case that pointing firearms at people isn't reckless because you checked it first is an argument in favor of the idea that all people shouldn't be allowed to own firearms. Off topic, but did they pay you for your work on the movie Rust up until that day, or is the pay off the table now?
