One unanswered question, is the shortage of container trailers - those are reused for millions of miles and thousands and thousands of loads. If there is a shortage, where did they go?
That my question for all kinds of "shortages" we see lately. For a particularly strange example (to me, anyway) it's completely impossible to buy frozen chicken thighs, chicken wings, or drumsticks around here. The stores are overflowing with chicken breast, but you can't get anything else. So they had the fucking chickens to get the breasts. Where the fuck did the rest of the chicken go?
My buddy owns a restaurant and he was just telling me he can't get wings all of a sudden. So yeah, that is strange. It's all manufactured to punish us I'm sure.
It says in the article that the containers are sitting on shipping company property full of goods. The shipping company is seeing the high rate of pay to move containers off ports so they are taking advantage by moving the containers to their property and delivering them at a later date
So basically we as Americans suffer because a few min wage security guards (and maybe a crane operator or two) are not employed.
