Yeah, they can try, but supply and demand. You raise the price and people stop buying it. Before you know it you have millions of tons of beef you can't sell to anyone. Then those prices come down real fast. Beef and chicken would be more expensive if it could be, but it can't. The industry doesn't control the price. They are forced to sell at market. Failing that, we go back to keeping cows in the yard. Take our diesel fuel, then we go back to steam power. Have fun blocking that when we can run our vehicles on firewood and water. That's why shit like this just isn't going to happen. Any asshole can build a railway, or a sailboat, or a refinery. You can be sure that assholes are always in nearly infinite supply.
