Rising crime levels and a mass exodus of officers has seen dozens of US cities doing a U-turn on the "Defund the Police" movement.
Dallas is just one example where the mayor has proposed increased funding — putting on an extra 250 officers with little fanfare in the last month to combat rising crime.
“As an African American male who came of age in the 1990s, I remember a lot of people whose lives were devastated by violence,” Mayor Eric Johnson said during an interview in Dallas City Hall. “I don’t want to go back there.”
