I don't if it's still the same, but I had a friend who worked as a paramedic for a short time. He said they were essentially paying poverty wages and even working entry-level warehouse maintenance guy paid far in excess of what the ambulance company did.

Everyone hears "The medical field pays great" So they want to save people so they train to be an EMT.

Well it USED to pay well 20 years ago. Then they let monopolies take over cities. Now those monopolies control wages.
