Places where extra benefits have ended, has shown almost no change in unployment. It's mostly the service industry, people simply aren't going to be exploited anymore, are training in other stuff, or doing gig work.

It is a wage problem.

The service industry, which always has openings. In my area, there are also a number of higher-skill companies that chew through people and pay low wages (for the skills desired) and are always looking for people. They're crying as well, and what it boils down to is exactly what you said. No one wants these shit jobs, especially not now that everything has gone up in price.
