North America has suffered periodic severe droughts in different places that have destroyed native civilizations. California (if you can call it civilized) may be next. Since California is next to the Pacific Ocean, large scale desalination operations would seem to be the best long-term solution.

Amazing how people can't seem to realize more immigration means more population, which makes these problems worse.

We should be pushing the fear of overpopulation in the US.
