Gotta wait till that stimulus runs dry and their mom kicks them out of the basement.
I was discussing this with a former co-worker today. There's a local company that makes bespoke electrical measurement components that's had an electronics tech position open for ~3 years now. They refuse to pay more than $17 for a degree/skilled job.
I kind-of know the HR person because I met them when former co-worker worked there, they said yes, they knew pay was low, owner wouldn't budge, and then tried to feed me "but we're a small company" shit.
It's still open. Pay is the same.
(((employer))) is saving even more money on a position that isn't necessary apparently...
I'd say that too except I've known people that have worked there recently. The opening is real, the need is pretty decent, but they prefer to complain that they have a people problem and can't get anyone in there.
