But we can't find peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepul!

Gotta wait till that stimulus runs dry and their mom kicks them out of the basement.

I was discussing this with a former co-worker today. There's a local company that makes bespoke electrical measurement components that's had an electronics tech position open for ~3 years now. They refuse to pay more than $17 for a degree/skilled job.

I kind-of know the HR person because I met them when former co-worker worked there, they said yes, they knew pay was low, owner wouldn't budge, and then tried to feed me "but we're a small company" shit.

It's still open. Pay is the same.

(((employer))) is saving even more money on a position that isn't necessary apparently...

I'd say that too except I've known people that have worked there recently. The opening is real, the need is pretty decent, but they prefer to complain that they have a people problem and can't get anyone in there.

Hilarious, $15 is dogshit considering how fucking bad inflation is. I can't imagine starting out right now with the intention of being able to settle down, get married, have kids and buy a house within ten years. Absolutely no chance, unless you go into the trades maybe and journey out without being $50k+ in debt like idiots that are still going to school.

There's a distinct lack of big-boy jobs paying real wages. Fast food shouldn't pay $15, but that's the kind of jobs that are out there.

Even skilled jobs refuse to pay a decent wage.

Meh, I'm a commercial electrician making $70 an hour plus $30 an hour in benefits. The money is in the trades for now. Until that merry go round stops, turning its a safe bet.
