This is how investment firms are earning money now. Stocks and bonds are no longer performing, so firms are buying things like copyrights (for royalty payments) and real estate (for rent payments). Notice that copyrights don't expire anymore due to the financial industry monetizing them. Real estate is now being monetized as rental property. Capital is cheap to insiders to buy real estate. This is why property is so expensive.
