So many questions. They didn't have enough life jackets for all of them? The dad jumped off a boat in a stong current (presumably why he couldn't get back on the boat) without some kind of flotation device? The dad was just treading water holding onto the lifejacket of his daughter? If the daughter had a life jacket on already, why didn't he just pull the boat up beside the kids and pull them back on?
Yeah, it's a weird story. The kids were swimming and the boy first got caught in the current. Then the sister did too? Then the dad jumps into the water to save the kids? Maybe because the water was pulling them down as well? I'm guessing first grabbed the daughter, then tried to swim to the boy, but the current pulled them far from the boat and they couldn't get back to the boat because the current was too strong. Yet the boy was able to swim to shore so he must of gotten out of the current. I guess the dad was afraid he would of become exhausted from swimming and just tread water, or like someone else said the dad was drunk.
