I usually keep my 2m radio nearby (or on) this time of year. The local weathernet is decent about reporting what's going on in the area.

I live in tornado alley and my local stations are excellent But, in a storm i lose Direct TV. I could use the 88D 'red and green' to pinpoint circulation and never leave my chair and save trips to the shelter.
