I'll respond to both your comments here. I'm aware gab is a much bigger threat, but the question for musk is which is a better investment. I've not seen the same influx to gab recently that you have, but let's just assume you're right there. Musk buying gab wouldn't change google or apple's mind about allowing it on their app stores, nor do I think enough people would give a shit that Musk would shine a light on that bs to where google and apple would be forced, legally or socially, to do anything.

but the question for musk is which is a better investment.

at the level musk plays, its not about investments. This is shown just from looking at the money that twitter yearly hemmorages.

at the level people like him are playing, its about who funds him and who gives him his contracts.

If you think he started ebay, an electric car company, and a successful private rocket company, on his own initiative, rather than having state level backers, that would be as big a mistake as believing facebook was just a 'hot or not' startup casually created by a nobody college drop-out.
