You know that family courts don't follow the law, right? They make shit up on the spot and the potential to appeal is practically nonexistent.
That's hilarious. There's I think nine states total where common law marriage has any precedent and that number has been decreasing over the last few decades. You're doing a demoralization routine and it's clear.
If a man wishes to protect his wealth, avoiding legal marriage is a sure way to accomplish that and there are a great deal of states one can live in to avoid the divorce rape routine. Even then, there's options on top of that to protect assets. You're just obsessed with how wrong things could go. Give it up.
You're right, perhaps I'm being overly cynical. It just feels like men get screwed (metaphorically) any time they are around women: - If you marry a woman she can take your house, your pets and your kids in divorce - If you don't marry and have kids, you have no right to your kids - If you don't marry, don't have kids, but cohabit with a woman, you get common law married--but only in some states
Basically women are like a vacuum that suck up men's resources whenever they are around men and they do it through the courts.
The kids issue is null. The judge will not side with the man in any case outside of very fringe circumstances. Just accept that. Women are much better at caring for kids and since we've offloaded a lot of the process of providing for a family to the state (at no small cost), that condition won't be mended by you taking measures to avoid it. Your children will be your children no matter what any court deems, however.
There are options to avoid having your assets confiscated. Don't be dumb. It starts with not being poor.
