Free speech ended with the Civil Rights Act and later Hate Crime laws.
I'd argue that every violent crime is a crime of hate, although you'd get some Berg in court who'd just subvert reality.
Every crime is a crime of hate. They are merely rider charges in the event that the main charges are beat. Like the Civil Rights Act, it was a way to elevate groups over another.
I specify violent crimes since speeding is technically a crime but I'd hardly attribute it to hate.
