A bunch of otherwise based Boomers became so terrified of COVID (due to watching too much fear porn cable news) they turned into shills for mommy government. I'm sure many of you have seen it with your families. Boomers will be yapping about election fraud all day but as soon as you mention something shady about COVID they launch into a monologue about how hospitals are overwhelmed and all of their friends know someone else who died on a ventilator with the 'vid so it's really important we mask up and vax toddlers. COVID scared the shit out of the Boomers (who were already terrified of growing old and dying due to their incredible self-centeredness) and made them switch support to big mommy government in some cases.
You are dead on with this one. My Dad, who I’ve never seen afraid of anything, is terrified of the Rona. It’s almost comical. This scam has its hooks in a LOT of people.
It ruined my father. He is like a crippled hermit now. It aged him a decade. He is very fatalistic and defeatist now. I think this story resonates with a lot of us.
I wish it didn't but it does. I've even caught my dad lying about it.
Example: I visited a family member a couple weeks ago. Everybody was fine and happy. Still is. No problems.
My dad is telling me he can't go visit her because she got covid and is weak and can't get out of bed. That's bullshit.
