It's the phone OS's themselves that track. Read the EULA.
The apps do make it even worse though because Google gets all apps data + tracking and activities. Facebook spans other apps and gets most of the same data. Twitter and others do the same thing.

Obviously not as bad, but the browser still runs an "app" in some sense, and can still use geolocation, mic and camera though you might be able to disable access to them (depending on the browser).

Don’t like twitter to begin with but if you need to be on there for some reason, the browser is the safer bet.
