The solution should be to use stricter penalties for anyone targeting ICE. The left isn't advocating for ICE agents (or other feds) to be unmasked out of some libertarian doctrinal viewpoint. They want to be able to identify them more easily so they can do them harm, because they want to keep illegals (AKA Democrat voters) in the country. Should law enforcement of any kind be allowed to perform their duties masked? No. They should be required to work out in the open. Should we make it easier for the left to attack agents because they disagree with the jobs they're performing? No. We should find some way to keep these people from attacking anyone at all. Should we make the punishment for those who law enforcement greater? No. It's already higher than if you harm a civilian. Do I have a solution to the problem? No. I'm not that smart. I only pretend to be a professor on the interwebs. Perhaps if we remove all the incentives for people to come here illegally the problem will solve itself, but the powers that be are not interested in solutions. They're interested in pitting us against each other so they can stay in power. Create the problem, then offer the solution to it.
