I don't doubt this one bit. When I was a boy, growing up in a rural area, I was very active and sometimes would accidentally injure myself or sometimes get sick. There was always a debate over if it was bad enough to go to the doctor or not. It had to be really bad for me to actually see a doctor. My dad even had medical insurance from his job. I was always accused of acting like it was worse than it actually was. On the other hand, if a horse got sick or injured, even slightly, There was an immediate call for the Vet to make a house call. Damn the expense! I had little doubt about where I was on the "food chain"...
