I grew up listening to it, and mostly by my own choice.
I had a small toy radio I used to listen to while I was going to sleep, probably when I was around 6 or 7. I really did like listening to the interviews of Terry Gross and Marty Moss-Coaine, and loved the comedy of A Prairie Home Companion, as well as the excitement of the Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me!
I actually think that early episodes of This American Life were brilliant, but I haven't listened to that program in so long, I wonder if I would now hear it differently than I did before.
Sometimes I wonder if listening to too much NPR at such a young age turned my brain soft, and gave me oddly liberal habits, like writing poetry.

Oh I did used to listen to that years ago. There was some interesting stuff aside that one faggot contributor. I also haven't heard it in years.
