Actually that is how that works. Why do people not know this?

Ok so yes we want the illegals gone and yes Karen is a fucking retard. States should be assisting the federal government in getting rid of illegal aliens. But here is one example of how much people don't understand how America is supposed to work. State government trumps the federal government. People > State > Federal. That is the power structure. The federal government does NOT have power over the States. They use issues like this to make people beg for government overreach. People need to read a history book instead of twitter.

Of course, Obama and the other commies in his administration can be thanked as well since they won that immigration case against Arizona. Then there's DC handing out money to cities and states for doing things that DC deemed needed to be done. .08 BAC is a good example of this, DC withheld gas taxes for interstate maintenance.

Correct. I'm not arguing whether or not the actions taken by the states is good or not, which it's not. I just find it disturbing that people don't know how our government is supposed to work. Makes it pretty easy for them to control everyone if most of the people don't understand the rules. It makes me sick that people will beg for government overreach as long as it aligns with their world view. Very few here on Poal and IRL actually want freedom. They just want the world to burn in the hopes that "their personal idea of freedom" will rise from the ashes.

The Democrats want the illegals here so they can illegally register them to vote. Then they tell the illegal invaders to vote Democrat because the Democrats are the ones giving them all the free shit that is paid for by the American tax payer.

Democrats want they illegals here to boost their numbers and steal elections, look at the areas the illegals end up going to and then look at the election results. If they were all deported (including the children they birthed and grandchildren), it is estimated they'd lose 30 seats in the House.

How different would bills like the BBB that was just signed be if the GOPe had that kind of margin in the House? What changes is that in the Senate?

There's more at play here than just the free shit they get. The dems want them because the illegals hate the USA, just like they do.

This seems like another one of those situations where the state is expected to adopt federal law/regulations as part of being a part of the "united" states.

However there must be a distinction here with states having the authority to at least temporarily restrict enforcement to allow resolutions of conflict.

If the situation were hypothetically changed to be about the 2nd amendment.. say a democrat president issued a directive for the ATF to confiscate all firearms and melt them down, we would be in favor of any state executive who would get in the way of such an act.

The difference is that one action is out of line with the constitution (the supreme law of the land).

Obviously hindering the enforcement of illegal immigration threatens the sovereignty of the nation, and so the people should be against Bass's order.
