One thing that proponents of a "living wage" minimum wage forget is this - the real minimum wage is zero.
It is and always has been. Even if you ban technology that "takes jobs" the ban can only exist for so long.
Some jobs are not intended to be careers. Fast food employee is one of them. That is a job intended for someone picking up a extra job for some extra income or for teens/college kids. It is not supposed to be something you do to try to support a family.
Now, if I had to pick up 3 fast food jobs to support my family I would. That is what you do. I would be trying to get out of it as fast as possible but I would do it if I had to. You are not supposed to make a career out of being a checker at walmart or working in fast food.. You are supposed to try to move up and do bigger things. If you disagree, you need to reevaluate your life and your decisions.

You're over qualified. They'd never hire you.
Proficiency in English is an automatic disqualification in those shitholes.
When you are over qualified and need work to take care of your family. It is easy to "play dumb".
