The vote was yesterday.

It passed the House 217-203.

It will die in the Senate, that's a certainty.

I guess you have a point there too. Though, im not sold on the "return to office" stuff. It is great for some people and some businesses but the increased demand in remote work is here to stay.

The forced RTO only helps concentrate people more in big cities driving up costs for everything while killing small towns around the country. When you "have to be in the city" for a decent paying job the only thing that can happen is for smaller cities and towns to die off while we ultra-concentrate people into big cities. Also, big cities for some reason seems to turn people democrat/socialist so that is another down side.

I have been working remotely for years, well before the lockdowns. I am able to be so much more efficient not having to worry about commuting or other typical office-related nonsense.

Very true. Many small towns have been hollowed out because of people moving to 'the city' for work. Remote working has enabled a lot of locations to entice people back to Small Town USA, and I think that's a great thing. The leftist nature of large cities is due to the preponderance of minorities who are prone to seeking government handouts. That, and young kids fresh out of college who have been indoctrinated into believing the government is there to provide everything they could ask for.

Im one of those people that "had to leave the small town" for work. I hate every bit of it. However, I now work remotely even though the type of work I do should have let me work remotely for well over 10 years.

I can not WAIT to move the fuck out of here and back to a smaller more conservative area. With luck it will before the end of this year.

Best of luck in that. Seriously.
