It did give people some experience, but the path that they would have followed to a higher paying job is now gone. That's the real issue.

A minimum wage job is there only to give someone with no work experience a chance to enter the job market. Leftists seem to believe that flipping burgers or stocking shelves should pay enough to raise a family of five. Anyone who has ever run a business knows that is not the case.
