Willing to bet the people who keep protesting drag shows had no issue watching MASH growing up… weird. pic.twitter.com/DbIRjGYOa6

He dressed up like that to demonstrate that he was mentally ill and needed to be sent home from Korea.

I guess they forgot that later in the show Klinger gave up the drag shenanigans he was using to try to get a Section 8 discharge (mental illness), wore regular army clothes, dated girls, got married to a gook woman and became a fine sergeant and company clerk after Radar left. In the end, he was more a man than most millennials these days.

The show portrayed it correctly. It showed that real transvestites are mentally ill and needed to be discharged from the army for their mental issues. Klinger was never put on Section 8 so he was clearly, by all doctor's accounts, not mentally ill. He eventually proved he was of sound mind and level head as he grew into his role in the war. Can't say the same for today's (((modern army))) service members.
